Measure direct sun

Count the hours when sun reaches the planting spot. Bright sky or a bright room does not equal direct sun.

Keep zone as a hard limit

Walls, wind, drainage, and summer heat still change how a plant performs inside the same USDA zone.

Match your real routine

Choose a watering schedule you can repeat. A plant that needs constant rescue is the wrong match for that spot.
