Use these observations to decide what to check next.
A dry-looking vine does not always need more water
A light pot with a dry root zone supports careful rewetting. A damp, heavy pot with continuing shrivel calls for a root and stem check before more water. Green stems, firm pearls or a lack of odor cannot rule out root damage; soft or collapsing tissue needs the separate mushy-stem assessment.
