Diagnosis

Diagnose: Cherry Blossom Poor Flowering

Follow these steps to identify and confirm the problem.

  1. Cut a bud and compare flowering across branches
  2. Brown or black flower tissue after a freeze means buds formed but died. Plump healthy buds that were clipped point to browsing, while leafy branches with few flower buds shift attention to last season's sun, pruning, root stress, nitrogen, age, or climate fit.
