Diagnose: Buffalo Grass Thin Patchy

1. A site pattern, seasonal dormancy, or concentrated wear
2. Check the calendar and the runners before repairing the lawn. Cool-weather straw color with flexible rooted runners suggests dormancy, while loose brittle crowns suggest death, and in summer the boundaries made by shade, sprinkler coverage, slopes, paths, and mower passes are more useful than color alone.
