Diagnose: Azalea Yellow Leaves

1. Soil pH has risen out of range, so the roots cannot take up the iron that is already in the soil.
2. Note which leaves are yellow before anything else, because that single observation removes most of the list. Yellow on the newest growth with the veins still green is iron, held out of reach by pH. Yellow on the oldest leaves means nitrogen, magnesium, or nothing at all if it is autumn and the stem tips are still green. A shrub yellowing all over and wilting in soil that is wet has a root problem rather than a nutrient one.
